REVIEW: Avene Thermal Water

If you are looking to achieve healthy, clear, supple skin the best advice that I can give you is to increase your hydration levels. The skin is more than 70% water so it only makes sense that you are to replace the water content in the skin. You want to be doing this with your entire skincare routine, but facial sprays are a great way to get some of that moisture refreshed throughout the day. I have been using the Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray in my skin routine for 5 months now. Today I’m sharing with you my thoughts on the product.

The Nitty Gritty

The Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray retails at Shoppers Drug-mart for $21.95 CAD for their 300 mL bottle. It features a continues spray that gives the skin an even mist. It can be used on the face, neck and all over the body. It is gentle and suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. I especially love it for those hot summer says when you want to give your skin some extra rejuvenation.

The mist is a very even distribution so there is no need to use a lot of it especially on the face. Otherwise you’ll find yourself drenched. The best way I like to use this is to spray it on my skin after my toner and pat it in with the palm of my hands to make sure my skin is soaking up the hydration.

My Experience

To be honest, I haven’t really noticed a lasting big improvement with my skin in a way that a serum or a toner will give you. If you are using it on top of a face cream or an oil you wont get the most out of the product because the mist wont even touch the skin. I apply this right after liquids and a hyaluronic acid for best results. Doing so, I have noticed my skin feeling really soft and plump immediately after applying this spray. Overall, my favourite way to use this mist is on my chest, decolletage and shoulders in the Summer to give my skin an extra boost.

If you’re specifically looking for a daily hydrator to give your skin some water during the day I would recommend trying this thermal water because it is gentle, it gives your skin ample hydration without a high price tag.
