January Bullet Journal 2019

January is all about setting a new routine for the year. You want to begin the new year by setting yourself up for success. My goal for this year is “balance” in my life. Be it in work, life, and social life, I want to make it a point to not get overwhelmed. Today I am sharing with you my January Bullet Journal setup for 2019.

The theme for this bullet journal is black and white. More of a minimalist theme and I am using my Tombow markers to fill it out in gradients from grey to black. I already have the majority of the month filled out with my work hours, my to-do list as well as the moon phases which I have really enjoyed following lately. I also have a tab for my YouTube growth tracker to see at a glance how I am doing which I really enjoy. I might make this tracker into one full spread so I can see the changes from month to month.

For my Mood and Habit Trackers, I of course wanted to keep it simple. I found a really simply acorn tracker spread on Pinterest and decided to re-create it with my own spin. I really like how it came out. At the bottom, I list the colours associated with my emotions in my Tombow pens. For the Habit Tracker, I have pretty much set my staple habits I like to track that was established last year. I really enjoy the full numbered layout even though it makes the spread a little tedious, I do find it the easiest method to keep track of those habits.

I already have one week filled out in a minimalist page spread. I really like how this timeline came out but I usually like to split my card readings from the day itself so I think I should have spread it out more onto both pages. It was nice to try something different though. I decided to keep up with my sleeping tracker as well which I really enjoy and wrote a really nice quote to tie everything together which I have been doing quite often.

For week two, I’ve spread out the days over the page a bit more to give myself a little more space. I really enjoy the way I did the dates using the Tombow pens and the elegant cursive text to outline the dates. One thing that I have been exploring is drawing new spreads on a weekly basis. I used to draw them out once I did the monthly spread but it just made it seem like a big event which I kept putting off. Doing it on a weekly basis keeps it a little more fluid for me and so far I am enjoying that. We’ll see how that turns out. I update the rest of the daily spreads once I have them drawn.
