REVIEW: Dr. Brandt Flash Recovery Mask

Dr. Brandt Flash Recovery Mask

This is the Oxygen Facial Flash Recovery Mask from Dr Brandt. It retails on the Sephora Website for $92.00 CAD for 1.4 oz of product. I’ve used this mask for just over one year now and today I’m sharing my thoughts on this highly coveted face mask.

Claims

This product claims to be the total at-home oxygen facial. Designed to give the skin a luminous boost, this recovery mask reinvigorates the skin in 3 minutes (the time it takes for the bubbles to work). It best suited for all skin types to combat dullness, uneven skin texture, fine lines and winkles.

My Experience

The first thing I can comment on is the texture of the mask. You do not need to rub it into the skin because you’ll start activating the product pre-maturely. Simply spread a thin layer on the skin and wait for 5 minutes for it to bubble. I typically use a spatula for this.

I have tried a few bubble masks in the past and I found them to be really messy because of the amount they bubble up, whereas this one is more manageable. It truly gives you that spa experience. Afterwards, you skin feels so smooth and a bit tingly - not stinging but the sensation comes from the bubbles. I typically use this after a clay face mask to put oxygen back into my skin or I use it in the morning before applying makeup.

Oxygen is great for cleansing the skin and allowing it to breathe. When pores (hair follicles) are clogged with oil, environmental debris they lack oxygen and become a breathing ground for inflammation and acne. This oxygen mask keeps your pores clean, and clean mores means minimized pores.

Now the price…. TBH it is quite pricey. For some people, $92.00 is just not justifiable for a face mask especially when there are numerous carbonated masks on the market at a fraction of the price. I’ve spoken about whether or no pricey skincare is better than cheaper alternatives in a previous post, and in this case they saying holds true. When it comes to skincare, as with most things you get what you pay for. Don’t get me wrong, there are some products that you can find for a very cheap price and they outperform higher end products. By the same token, there are some products that I will willingly spend a pretty penny on if it gives great results.

After using this mask, my skin is smooth, and plump. It looks bright and I can honestly say I have seen a difference in my pore size now that I am 2 bottles in. The best thing is that a little goes a long way. This product tends to last me a really long time so I actually feel like I’m getting quality for my money.

Overall

Oxygen has become a staple in my skincare regimen. If you’re someone who wants to tackle fine lines and give your skin a rejuvenating glow then I would recommend picking this up. I always have this mask in my beauty collection. If you’re concerned about the price, then get yours from FabFitFun the item is featured on their exclusive shop at a discounted price.
